How do I get rid of cabbage coral?
So my question is that I have an over abundance of cabbage coral (spreads like a weed) And I would like to get into SPS, so I think I need o get rid of it (don't like it anyway) so, is the only solution to trade the rocks with it on it? or is there some way to get rid of it? or maybe something that will eat it?
This is just a shot of part of it....I'm starting to get over run with it

You have three options that I can think of. Get rid of the rock that they are on. Cut small sections of rock with the coral attached. Last you can inject them with kalk slurry. There can be no remaining tissue as it will regrow into a new specimen.

Cut it back to a stump with scissors, tie the cuttings down to a pc of rubble and let them attach, and trade them to your LFS for ??.
Our LFS sells cabbage frags for $15-20 ea. After attaching, you should have several small colonies that are worth something. If you don't want any at all, chisel the stumps off of the LR, glue down to rubble and take them in. |

Kalk slurry is just kalkwasser powder mixed in some water to make a slurry/soupy solution.

Yep. I've tried it on mushrooms and it took several injections over a few days time to finally eradicate them. It also works on xenia. I cut the xenia down to the rock and then smeared kalk paste on them. That also took a few applications.

So...if I injected say.....1/2 of them would that be bad or should I slowly do one at a time?
