That will be fine, most people just use a flourescent flood light from Home Depot

I've used the curly bulbs before, but I think those would be categorized under PC lights. I just happen to have a small *NO* florescent fixture laying around and wanted to get use out of it.

Understandable, it's pretty much old school technology. *NO* lights are the type of florescent lighting you might see in a store. Not powerful enough for most reef applications.

Cheato does well for me in an opaque container near a window.IMO, Any light at all is all you need.

im using a 20something watt NO spiral bulb in a lowes $4.00 fixture..chaeto grows like a weed now...
