Skimmer going crazy today

I painted my living room today and noticed my skimmer had filled the collection cup 1/2 way and was producing alot of micro bubbles.
Is that normal? Should I just unplug it for a couple days?
I don't want it over flowing while I'm asleep tonight.

its going crazy becuase chemicals got into your water...probably not normal..i would do a large water change just in case
