drill locations

If I wanted to go from my drain line into a 50gallon tub then into my 300 gallon sump, where should the hole be located. If they are straight across will the 300 gallon back flow into the 50gallon during a power outage? See idea below

pics would help a little. but water runs down hill so as long as each next vessel is lower than the first with proper height bulkheads i dont see why it wouldnt

take into effect the amount of water that will empty if return stops.

meaning one bulkhead needs to always be higher than the next? wont water pressure force it up the pipe even if it is higher?

its hard to picture the setup without photo.I once had a oscar pond years ago.My filtration was 4 storage totes the first was about 14" higher than the last.

when my pond pump went out,i had very little water return to pond not that it mattered.

Pm me with a pic or post one and ill try to help you better
