Skimmer Trouble

I have an Otcopus HOB Skimmer the 300F model. I recently just got over the huge Red Slime Remover Skimmer reaction. For a week my skimmer was bubbling at a much faster rate. Now my skimmer isn't skimming enough. I was told by my LFS that this could be because most of the nutrients are out of the water because last week so much was being removed. It sounds right to me but just wanted to get other opinions. What do you think?

I don't have the same skimmer that you do but after I got over the skimming frenzy after Chemi-Clean my skimmer was pulling a good amount of skimate in a day or so.
