not sure about reefsafe, but here's a bit of info from the reef fishes forum "Difficult and Special Care Species" sticky -
Quote:
Porcupine Pufferfish (can be hardy but also seem very disease prone)
As someone new to the hobby, you might want to hold off on that purchase until you've gained more experience. Beyond the reefsafe concern, research compatibility with other planned tankmates, recommended tank size, feeding needs, etc. Good luck!

Puffers are probably the least Reef Safe fish you can buy haha. No invert will be left uneaten ^_^d. They will munch on coral from time to time as well, both hard and soft. They do tend to avoid leather corals though.

They are, however, awesome fish for a FOWLR of a species tank. They are prone to internal parasites, but other than that they are pretty hardy fish. They have a great personality and they will grow on you very quickly.

Most marine puffers get very large, and require fairly large set ups. There are a few on the smaller side like the Toby Puffer.

Try this link out for some great puffer info:

Love them. Most will eat anything including invertebrates. I had a dog face puffer and thought it was going to eat the galss.
