puffer fish......reef safe?
Just a quick question, my LFS said that all pufferfish are not reef safe, is this a fact as i would like one in my reef tank

Puffers are probably the least Reef Safe fish you can buy haha. No invert will be left uneaten ^_^d. They will munch on coral from time to time as well, both hard and soft. They do tend to avoid leather corals though.
They are, however, awesome fish for a FOWLR of a species tank. They are prone to internal parasites, but other than that they are pretty hardy fish. They have a great personality and they will grow on you very quickly. Most marine puffers get very large, and require fairly large set ups. There are a few on the smaller side like the Toby Puffer. I would not put one in my tank. I have also heard they are not reef safe.

Love them. Most will eat anything including invertebrates. I had a dog face puffer and thought it was going to eat the galss.
