can i FW dip my new zoas?

i posted in the zoa forum, but i need a faster response

so ya, shake the frag in RODI for about a dozen seconds or so then place it in the tank?

its been it the LFS for like 2 weeks for longer and polyps were all open when i bought it

its acclimating right now via drip and im wondering if i can FW dip it

Why not invest in some tropic marin coral care or revive?
I personally wouldnt fw dip anything!

so i can put it in the tank for now then dip it later?

i have no QT or dip solution or money to buy it now

i just got this frag for $20

1)yes you can but thats not exactly the method I would recommend. You are exposing your whole tank to any bugs your lfs has.

2) no qt is required just a dip. If you dont have $9.99 for a bottle of revive, perhaps this isnt the hobby for you

3) I would suggest research before buying anything

many people dont treat coral before putting it in their tank but once you have lots of corals, 1 bad pest and you put all the others at risk.

for example I have spent hundreds in coral this month. Everything is dipped for pests prior to making it into my tank. Revive takes 5 minutes and kills almost everything besides red bugs. Which interceptor takes care of.

Better safe than sorry.

I dont want to be a dick but impulse buying in this hobby is never a good thing.

ya I feel u, I will dip properly in the future, anyways all I have besides the new zpanthds are gsp and RDEs

I've fresh water dipped many zoas, and you can leave them in for minutes at a time. Some feel it increases the chances of infections (such as zoapox), but I've not experienced that personally.
