Down the driveway. As mentioned before it does a good job on killing driveway crack weeds.

I add some bleach and store ot for 24 hrs before dumping in the gutter. I live about 5mi from the beach, so I don't want to introduce any foreign species to the local ecosystem.

I usually use the toilet or the shower. When I had a freshwater tank, I sometimes took advantage of my water changes to water plants.
Whether it comes from fresh- or saltwater tanks, dumping your water down a drain to the sewer is better for the local environment than dumping it down a stormwater drain in the street. In areas with wastewater treatment systems, sanitary sewers lead to wastewater treatment plants, where the water will be filtered and disinfected. Stormwater drains often lead to a local stream, which may mean a short trip to the ocean if you're near the coast. Many US states and countries around the world are fighting invasive plants in rivers, lakes, bays, etc. If aquarium waste water is not treated, then duckweed (freshwater), caulerpa (saltwater), and algae spores (both) can find their way to suitable habitats and begin competing with native plants. On the other hand, putting salt water down a septic tank generally doesn't work out very well. Even if you have drought- and/or salt-tolerant grass and trees, chances are that eventually your yard will become too salty to support them.
