Cleaner shrimp broken legs
I've just got a couple of cleaner shrimp.
Having taken care with the drip acclimatization over 8 hours I've just put them in the display tank. While doing so I've managed to knock off two of the rear legs from the female. Will they re-grow or have I just maimed her ? |

they'll grow back after the next molt. i had a coral banded whose claws came off, and he molted and they magically reappred the nexty day! it's pretty amazing what they can do.

Thanks for the re-assurance. I'd hate to think I'd done for her.
Do you have any idea how often they moult ? |

Should be true for most crabs/shrimp, my emerald crab can grow claws back, so i would think an arrow crab would also.

Pretty much any animal that molts can regenerate limbs. As long as you haven't injured it to the point where it can't perform basic survival tasks (eating, avoiding predators, etc.) then it should be just fine.
