Trigger Fish

Would a Niger trigger fish be ok in a 55 gallon, or is that a big no no?

I just saw one at Petco that was about 2" long. However, you really need to find out how fast they grow and what do you do when it outgrows the tank.

Also, I'd investigate compatibility with other fish, corals, nems, and such you'd like to keep.

Sorry, no answers, but a few more questions for you. :-)

Depends on how big you decide to get it. Eventually there going to need a larger tank because they do reach a decent size.

no.. Niger triggers get huge ( 14-18") There is no way one will be happy in a 55 for very long. He won't even be able to turn around

Only thing that sucks (expense wise anyways) is well the expense lol. From what I have read for a niger your looking at a several hundred gallon upgrade, provided your in it for the long haul.... after all they can grow to be around 20", and love their swimming.
