Carbon questions?

I have had a "biobag" in my 29 gallon biocube for months now, it is my main carbon filter. i dont know what to use to replace this. It is located right above my bioballs (i had to remove a couple to put it in). Any suggestions?

take both out (carbon and bioballs) and replace it with liverock rubble, you really don't need carbon but you can run it just in case (needs replacing often)

I would keep using the carbon, but you are getting little effect out of it by leaving it in a bag in your sump. You should invest in a Phosban Reactor ($35 +/-) and run carbon in it. With bagged carbon the water runs through it randomly and with little pressure. In a reactor it is forced through the carbon with pressure and maximizes the results of the carbon. Worth millions for a small investment.

Fish_wiz2 has it right, get rid of the bio balls and put in some live rock.

Hope this helps!

if you have any extra live rock from your display tank then you can just use that, or go to your local fish store and buy some rubble rock or small pieces of live rock.

Thanks very much. I have very recently realized i do not have close to enough live rock for my display tank. I only have 15lbs in a 29 gallon tank. I will need to buy some more soon.
Thanks again!
