overflow help

i have a 54 corner with a stote-bought durso. this thing keeps getting louder and louder. it drains into a wetdry. i've removed all of the bioballs and replaced them with foam blocks to cut down on the noise. well - it's not working anymore. any suggestions? last night i could hear it draining from close to 50 feet away. i can't even watch tv anymore without turning off my return.

any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Is the noise from the water in the wet/dry (loud splashing, we stopped this by extending pipe to dump below water level in sump) or is it a gurgling/toilet flushing noise from the durso? (I'm a bit of a newbie on this subject compared to all the experience surfing this site, but I would assume this is because your durso doesn't have a breather hole/little pipe drilled in top to break siphons)

Have you tried throttling back the flow from your return pump to see if that makes a difference?

What size piping are you using? What's the bulkhead(s) sizes? What's the return pump being used?
