Quiet One 9000 electrical question
I just got a quiet One 9000 to replace my Mag 24. While I was reading the power specs sticker on the side of the pump I noticed that the wattage is 145w and the draw is 3.1A at 120v.
The box states 145w and 3.8A at 120v as does the Pentair Aquatics website which is different from the actual specs on the pump. I was under the impression that this formula is constant in regard to electricity. (Power = Voltage x Current) This means that, according to the spec sticker the pump is either running at: 145w with 1.2A OR 372w with 3.1A Is something wrong with their calculations or is there another factor to use when calculating this information? Unfortunately I have no amp meter to verify this.

Power Factor is factored in when determining RMS wattage (the watts you pay for at the meter). My guess would be that that pump has a PF around .50...so the formula is V x A x PF = RMS watts.
