Ushio 10k vs ReefLux 12k?
I am trying to decide between the Ushio 10k and Reeflux 10k. Any feedback or opinions on which would be best for a mixed reef? I am looking at the 250 watt SE bulbs. DO not want anyting too yellow, but I need good PAR values as I have a 30" deep tank and keep clams on the bottom.
Thanks! |

If you want high PAR, go with the Ushio 10K. Or even higher PAR than those are - XM 10K (a bit yellow) or Hamilton 10K.

hey grigsy, thanks for the reply. I tried the xm10k and even with 500 watts super actiniv vho, they were still too yellow! Hellolights said the Ushio 10k was more white compared to the XM, so maybe I'll give the Uashio a shot. I did notice that some of my chalices started to bleach out on the bottom with the XM, so maybe that was too much light!?

yeah I am using the ARO ballasts, which were designed for the XM bulbs...but I am running reeflux 12k now with great color...just wish they were a little brighter.
