how are you mounting the vortech box

the controller and driver are too big to fit through the holes in the stand. time to get out the drill?

Without knowing your stand... I'd say... maybe, yes, or no.

For what it's worth, I believe you can remove the plug from the controller to the pump, which would likely allow you to get it through whatever small hole you have (that's how you upgrade from a MP20-40). Hit the Vortech forum here for details.

I was really frustrated with this. They don't mention anything in the instructions about it. All you do is open the box, and the wire is connected to a plug type connector. Pull the connector out, route the wire through the stand and put it all back together.

I use doubled sided 3M tape. The kind you use to hang hooks. That way I can just pull down on the tape and remove the controller with no lasting effects.

Take the box apart and disconnect the wire.. then you can pass the wire inside your stand and put it back together.

I took the box apart and unplugged the wire also. Then I attached it to the stand using heavy duty velcro.
