Sebae Anenome Question

I bought a Sebae Anenome a week ago and it was about 5 inches across, and now it is about 1/2 to 1/4 its size when the lights are on. I have 2 250 watt metal halides on a 70 gallon. When I turn my lights off and the actinics are on it fully expands and including when all lights are off. I was wondering why it was during that? Could it be that it is to much lightning, which I thought the more the better?

Thanks
Josh

It's probably shocked a bit from going from the lfs flourescent to halide. The same thing happened to mine. What color is it?

Try either a few (3or4) window screens over the top, removing one per week or shorten your photo period temporarily.

3 hrs one week
4 hrs next week
5 hrs next
ect

at what level in the tank did you introduce the anemone to?

I would ensure that it is close to a rock it can partly crawl under--that way it can acclimatize itself to the light without you having to do it.
Anemones will relocate themselves from conditions they don't like.

Thanks, he moved a couple of places since I got him, he has stayed put for about a couple of days. So you think he will return to size once he gets used to my lights and tank?

Thanks
Josh
