Clown Goby

I have had my Yellow Clown Goby for about a week now. And I have been feeding him flake food. He seems to be interested in the flake food by I'm not sure if he's actually eating it. How easy or likely is it for Yellow Clown Gobys to eat flake. He is the only fish in his tank.

Flake food is decent, but you should mix it up. I used frozen mysis (Strained of course) and pellets every other day. Foods high in protien will increase color.

why do you say you're not sure if he's eating it? watch him when you feed and it should be pretty easy to tell. if he takes it but then spits it back out it may be that he doesn't like that flake, or just that it's going to take a little while for him to get used to it. try a variation of foods, and something will stick. my blenny is just getting used to algae sheets after feeding on algae growing naturally and occasional rods food. it took a couple tries with rod's as well.

i've had a clown goby and currently have a citron goby. They both took about a week before they accepted flake/marine quisine. when they finally started eating they didn't appear to be starved or anything. cold blooded fish don't need to eat as much as one would think just because their body heat is regulated by the temperature. Also clown gobies do a lot of lazy perching. my citron goby does a lot of citroning on his azz. I'm pretty sure he's just getting acclimated like mine did. try breaking the flakes up a bit so it's not huge pieces.
