Question What does "burning" corals look like

I have a 180gallon tank with a Coralife MH canopy. This canopy is maple, with 3 - 400 watt 10K and 2 actinic VHO's.

Recently, the acrylic panel cracked and I had to remove it from the canopy. Since then, I've noticed that my soft tree corals tips are turning white only in a few places. Is this the symptons of "burning" corals.

My bulbs are at least 12" above the surface.

If I need to replace the acrylic panel, will any acrylic due or is a special panel needed?

Thanks in advance.
