Corals that "walk"?

I am wondering what types of corals will "walk" around on a rock and possibly to different rocks in the aquarium. I don't have a good camera so I can't post a pick because it is to small. Brown in color, about half the size of a pencil eraser. Not looking for an ID just need the names of a couple different "walkers" to see if I can find a good pic online.

Thanks!!

I have seen it open once(this is why I don't think it is aptaisia, plus I've had my aptaisia issues so I know what they look like ). It mostly resembles a stalk then when it opens it has a flat disc with tiny bumps around the edges. Not really long enough to be tentacles but it is very small. I've only seen one so I don't know if there is more hiding.

Anemones and jellyfish are two different creatures. Do a google image search for aiptasia, glass anemone and mojano. They range in color from translucent to brown to red. We could all guess until we're blue in the face. Without a pic it's virtually impossible to give you a definitive ID.

Lots of softies can "walk." Some faster than others. Xenia is one that can move pretty fast. Some leave little bits of themselves behind that grow new offspring. Usually they're moving to get more or less light.

What you describe kinda sounds like a palythoa. I have seen them move (but not much), but really slow. Usually I see them more or less just spreading.

So how far did this thing go and how long did it take?

I know I need a pic but as I said I don't have a good enough camera. I spent all my money on fish, now I'm broke! HA!HA!
But seriously, it's not aptaisia for sure. Majano, maybe, but it's really small and I have only seen it open up once. I have seen it twice now. It "appeared" about week ago next to my lucky mushroom coral, stayed there for a little more than a day, then disappeared for three days, and today I noticed it back, but on the other side of the mushroom. I'm working on at least borrowing a camera to get a pic and I am doing my best at google searches and melev's but so far nothing. I appreciate everyone's help on this. I will definately look up a few different xenia and palythoa, thanks Salamander for not thinking I'm crazy!!

I think I know what you are referring to. I recently had a small invasion of a small pest anemone that looked like a cross between an aptasia and a palythoa. I think they hitch hiked in on a zoanthid rock. I have no idea what they were but it wasn't any sort of typical aptasia or majano. They were very active "walkers"-- I would see one on a bare rock in the morning then see one on the glass when I got home, then it would be gone two hours later. Luckily, they were very easily killed by kalk paste so I got rid of all I could find.

If that's not what it is, it could be a type of walking sponge. I have quite a few of those in my tank-- pale whitish yellow puffballs about the size of a gumball that extend web type arms and slowly move themselves around-- like a week to move an inch, but they definitely can move themselves. I really need to get some time lapse photos of it.

Corals of the Polyphillia sp. and Heliofungia sp. can both "walk." They can move around the tank, even up hill or up onto rocks. They can move quite a distance in a short time also. They do this by expanding or inflating their tissue on different parts of their body.
