Please Help w/ ATO Mount... Can't DIY for crap!
This may seem pretty miniscule compared to some of the DIY stuff I've seen on here, but I'm having trouble and hoping someone can help. I recently bought a Tsumani ATO unit because I hate topping off manually. What the LFS salesperson forgot to mention was that you really can't mount the pressure valve on a sumpless system because the valve needs to only be submerged about two inches from the water line in order to work properly.
Long story short, I can't mount the valve because the tank brace is in the way. Can anyone think of an inexpensive/easy way to mount this in a tank? I'm thinking of rigging a floating glass scraper to mount the valve. Here's a picture of the ATO unit and the valve that needs to be mounted. The valve is about 6 inches long. ANY suggestions/advice is greatly appriciated. Thanks!

Would something like this work? Autotopoff.com sells the mounting brackets for their ATO float switches. Here's a pic:
http://autotopoff.com/MISC/m-st.jpg Are the suction cups on the Tsunami unit removable? If they are, then you could use some zip ties and attach the Tsunami sensor to the mounting bracket from Autotopoff.com. Then attach the mountin bracket to the lip of your tank. Hope that helps! |

Glue it to a mag float with super glue. Will be the easiest way.
