claims to be able to denitrify tanks by using the denitrification method utilised in dsb and plenum systems, but in a filter anyone ever use these? whats your input? whats the catch? |

A member of this site named gassman059 posted his results using the Aquaripure denitrator and he seemed pleased with the results.
Check out his thread --> My quest for 0 nitrates starts tomorow. I have purchased a Medium unit for use on my 65 gallon African Cichlid tank. The unit is cycling and I will post my opinion and results in the next several weeks. |

I have two, one for Aquapod and one for 100Gal reef, it really help to keep NO3 low, i feed a lot, and do water changes every 3 to 4 weeks, and the nitrates on my tank are around 10, before the aquaripure around 70, the only trick is even after cycling the unit is still dosing litle vodka.

I must say that my Aquaripure filter works very well. I set the filter up on my 65 gal African Mbuna tank which is heavily stocked and fed. My nitrates were always very high (>100), but the filter is slowly but surely cutting them down. My nitrates are currently at 40. So far I'm happy with the product. However, it is embarrassing when I leave out my cheap bottle of vodka and friends ask me why I have that on my counter.

So here's an update on my experience with the Aquaripure denitrator. The nitrates in my Mbuna tank are down to 20. The tank is very crowded with fish and they are well fed. The fish look very happy and the algae growth in my tank is minimal.
This denitrator requires a weekly dose of vodka and the output must be adjusted every few days, but all in all I'm happy with it and it's easy to maintain. ![]() |
