maxi jet mod mods

I know I have seen (I think) that there are some mods that you can do to the maxi-jet mod kits.

what are they?

Don't waste your time. Go get a coupe tunzes and you will be much happier. I have 3 1200 maxi-jets with the Sureflow 1600 kits and have nothing but problems with them. If I use my wave controler, when they restart they have a tendency to cavitate or will pump backwards. I have to run them continuously. But, they would still cavitate. Solved that problem by redusing the flow entering them aprox. 20%.

I run 4 of the tritonaquatics mod kits and am very satisfied, especially for the price. They seem to be the best model from what I've heard. I rarely have problems even turning them off a couple times a day for feeding. running them on a wavemaker is asking for trouble though so if that is a must for you I would look at Tunze/vortech

I also run the triton aquatics brand high flow mod on maxijet 1200s, and it puts out some serious flow and has no problem turning back on after being turned off. Though I still would not want to put it on a wavetimer, it is just too iffy, can start rattling on start up etc.

I have mine running full go without being turn off and on. just wondering if there are some mods that you can do to them.

Ive heard of better shafts for them, and putting airline tubing on them? just cant remember where I saw it and what the use would be for that
