Need a DIY catch the damn Coral Bandit and Psudochromis
I have a coral bandit in my tank who has been living it up for the past 8 months. This hot shot walks all over my corals, steals their food, and irritates ALL of my corals on the sand bed. Yes this is one cool customer indeed.
This jerk needs to go. And also... The one fish that I hate, who must be a distant relative of the coral banded shrimp. Psudochromis jerkisious I need some brilliant, genius idea for catching these two, dead or alive. I have tried everything. Any ideas? |

Wanted - DEAD or ALIVE!
Make a trap for the shrimp. Use a soda bottle with bait inside. May have to cut the hole larger for the shrimp to go in. Put a silverside or a piece of clam in the bottle and the shrimp will go for it.

Psudochromis jerkisious
I had to completely tear down my 75 when I had it to get rid of one of these. I should have known, when I bought him the LFS employee dropped him on their floor and didn't find him for about a minute before bagging. I think he made it his goal from that point to terrorize anything he could find. Good luck.

I caught my psudo this week by placing the net in the tank and leaving it there all week. When I would feed I would bring the net to the middle and put the food in it. hold still. eventually he goes in to get the food.at first very quickly then more paitently. Do this a couple times before actually moving the net to catch him.
My food is a frozen mix. This is the one time I did not thaw first.

I have one of each specimen in my mixed reef and enjoy watching them. What are they messing with ?
My pseudo get his food despite being the smallest in the tank of many. It's also fun to wach the coral banded box the tangs if he doesn't want them to get near him! |
