Green Flat algae on the glass
Hi, I have green flat algae on the glass , it appears every day , so I have to clean my front glass almost every day...I don't have any nuisance algae though on LR, so I don't know what to do...its a bit annoying :-)
I have chaeto algae in my sump, I gues it helps to control algae, but not this one.... my paramets are * Specific gravity: 1.021 sg (i know its low , I am started to raising it slowly) * pH: 7.8 - 8.1 * Calcium: 420 ppm * Alkalinity: 8 - 9 dKH * Nitrate: 1 ppm * Phosphate: Undectable * Magnesium: 1350 ppm * Temperature: 27 celcium I have Outer Orbit MH system with T5 # 10000K PowerPaq: 3 x 150W # Actinic 460nm: 4 x 39W # Actinic 420nm: 4 x 39W # Lunar Light Blue/White: 12/12 Tunze Doc 9010 Skimmer my tank is 130 g sump 30g 100 pounds of LR I bought my light system used, so bulbs probably a bit old, does this can have impact on algae? anyway , I would appreciate any suggestions Thanks in advance |

It could be the bulbs, how old would you estimate them to be?
How much do you feed? |

my bulbs might be around 6 month, I suspect they a bit old, so that could be a problem... I have 2 different blue actinic bulbs , I was wondering if can change one of them to day light , for my taste its a bit too blue :-)
I feed twice a day, flakes or frozen mysis shrim also cyclope for corals...maybe a bit too much:-) how to know how much exactly they need, I have one clown, hippo tang, and 6 blue chromises , maybe 10 hermit crabs and cleaner shrimp, all bunch of snails |
