Lighting acclimation question

I recently purchased a Large Acro colony that was under 400watts of T5 lighting. I'm wondering if I have to acclimate my new Acro to my lighting which is 150w HQI MH with 2x96w actinics. Do I have more or less lighting than the T5's? And should I put the coral on the bottom for a few days or is it safe to move it to the top.

Thanks,

Personally, I'd put it on the bottom for a while and let it get used to your parameters. Sounds like it was getting blazed with light without knowing too many of the specifics. Ultimately it should be fine under your 150. But why risk it. Put it on the bottom and move it up after a week or 2. If it starts to look unhappy, lower it back down. You never know, it might like it low.

Pics of the acro would help us help you determine where it's ultimate placement might be best. All of this is subject to opinion. That's just how I'd do it. Others may disagree. I prefer the conservative approach.

Chances are, you're T5s are much brighter than that 150, but it depends on the fixture. Starting it on the bottom of the tank certainly won't hurt, though.
