24g Aquapod Skimmer options

I've searched some threads and didn't see this one asked, or maybe I'm blind. Either option is possible.
I have a 24gallon AquaPod and I've had the tank up and running for about 6 months. I want to know if anyone has put a skimmer inside one of the three chambers of my aquapod. I want to be able to keep the lid (light/fan housings) on to reduce evaporation; instead of making too many mods and having to find another solution. Has anyone found something that works well?

the only skimmer that fits inside with the top on is the Sapphire skimmer, the tunze will fit but you can't have the top on anymore.
