Zoanthids "puking"?
One frag of my zoanthids has black or very dark brown strings coming out of the mouths of the polyps. They do this spontaneously, but normally look fine. The polyps are all opened.
Is this their insides coming out? That can't be good, can it? Does anyone know what is happening? |

They stay open. They only close at night or when something walks over them. I took this pic, you can just barely see it due to the camera:
The mouths of the zoas also look turned out a little bit, almost like they kind of have fat lips for lack of a better term. |

Yea thats what it looks like. Either that or they caught something from the water column and decided to try and eat it.

I just though it was odd that every head on the frag was doing it at the same time. Every once in a while I see a single head from one of my other colonies expelling a black string, but never all at the same time.
