Couple of questions about salt creep
About a month ago I scrapped my old return pump (Quietone 1200) and replaced it (with a Mag 5). The good points: I no longer need an airline in my U-tube to keep the air out; the flow just shoots the bubbles right through. Also there is a lot more surface agitation which I know is good. However, I am noticing a lot more splashing and salt creep with it. I'm not seeing much of a difference in sg (about 1.025), but it's rather annoying to keep cleaning up.
Would it take a lot of salt creep to noticably drop the specific gravity? And is there a reef safe salt creep eliminator out there? Thanks! |

I have an open sump (alot of salt creep) and have never noticed a drop becouse of salt creep.
There is a product out there that is reef-safe and made to clean and then inhibits salt creep. never used or heard anything about it though. |
