Float Switch or Float Valve, which one more fail-safe?

I'm considering an auto-top off for the future, looking for some input. Thanks!

I'd say over the long-term that float valves are much more reliable. Every automatic top-off system requires regular maintenance and cleaning to keep from failing. So, whatever you choose to use, you should keep that in mind.
