steam cleaning carpet around tank?

I was wanting to steam clean my carpet in the same room that my tank sits in, and was wondering if anyone would advise against this? I was thinking of throwing a tarp or blanket over the tank but im not sure if that would even be necessary. If it makes any difference I will be using Resolve Steam concentrate in the steam cleaner.

thanks for any input

make sure you have good ventilation out of the fish room. Even setting up a fan temporarily that blows away from the tank

I would not throw a tarp over your tank---could affect air exchange and cause heat issues.

I actually just had stanley steamer come by and do their whole package on my carpets. "Clean, deodorize, protect." They sprayed down some chemicals but they didn't seem to produce much vapor. There have been no ill effects weeks later.

I have an open top and have never had a problem with having the carpets cleaned.

We have carpets steamed cleaned all the time and it had no negative affect on the tank or skimmer. You'll be fine.
