blue hermit crab
i just looked at my tank and noticed that theres about 15 of them in a group chiling in one spot is this normal?

Their plotting a attack on the snails. Their just going over the plan & making sure everyone knows their job......LOL....
Not sure why they are gathering. BUT it is true that if the hermits are growing & want a larger shell, they will kill the larger snails..eat their guts & hijack the shell. I always have larger empty shells in the tank, this way the hermits will hijack the empty ones first

Probably crowding a bit of food (snail). Do they have anything to eat? 15 is a pretty big table! Probably starving.

I thought it was funny, made me laugh. I have had them live in groups in my tank before. As long as they are not eating each other, they should be fine.
