i have xenias, mushrooms, starpolips, brain coals, leathers, aussie accans, and all kinds of others my tank has been running for 1 year i have a 150 gall and a big refugium. cal 450 alk 12 dkh ph 8.0 nitrate 0 phos 0 salinity 1.025 temp 82. i got good light system by current with the halides and atinics, good surface movment, coraline everywhere, crystal clear water every thing is perfect and i dont run uv sterilizer. i run protein skimmer every two days. but the only thing that seems to be growing fast is the xenias is this normal for the aussies, brain, and others to grow so slow even my mushrooms i dont see any new polyps. how long will it take!!!!!!! what can help to speed up growth process.

What is your magnesium level? Low mag can inhibit sps growth. Softies won't be effected.
And why do you only run your skimmer part time? If it pulls stuff out, you ought to run it all the time.
