Octopus BH100-F

I just upgraded to this skimmer and am having troubles getting it started. The instructions it comes with are pretty lousy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have no idea how to get this pump primed!

Is this the model with the pump hanging down in the display tank? If so, have you tried blowing in the air hose when it starts up?

Does it have a siphon? If so, you need to start it. First fill the skimmer body with water. Next attach an airhose to the John Guest fitting on top. Make sure the fitting is open (turn counter clockwise)

Suck on the hose until all the air is out of the pipe and you draw water. While still sucking close the JG fitting (clockwise), Turn on the skimmer,. You should be set, though may take a couple tries.

The easiest way is if you have a an Aqualifter pump on hand. Connect the input to the JG fitting and place the output line in the skimmer. Turn the pump on, when it is gpoing good turn the skimmer on. Close the JG fitting and then disconnect the pump.
