I put a plastic colander inside a larger container, add the bag contents (after floating to bring temperature up), drip acclimate for whatever time is required (fish - about twenty minutes, inverts - about 90 minutes) removing water as the container fills up, and then lift the colander and fish/inverts, shake a little and then immerse in QT or display as appropriate to allow fish/inverts to swim out.
