Shrimp/Goby Pair?

What does this mean when things say does well as a shrimp/goby pair? Do the shrimp and fish do well with each other or what? I have a coral banded shrimp so I was just wondering what this meant.

This refers to a pistol shrimp and a watchman goby. Certain pistols and gobies share a symbiotic relationship where they will share a burrow.

that means pistol shrimp and a goby which can build a symbiotic relationship with the pistol shrimp, such as Diagonal Bar Prawn Goby, Dracula Goby, Hi Fin Red Banded Goby, Tangaroa Goby, Yellow Watchman Goby, Yashia Goby, etc. The most common pistol shrimp are Tiger Pistol Shrimp and Red Banded Pistol Shrimp. Pease be noted that not all gobys can build symbiotic relationship with the pistol shrimp.

I got this yashia and red banded shrimp pair, they share the burrow and food together. the goby grabs the food flowing by, and the spit it to the opening of the burrow, and shrimp drag the food into the burrow. They're really entertaining critters to watch.

Very interesting to observe in home aquaria. I have this pair. They stay together all the time. The Pistol Shrimp digs the burrow & the Watchman Goby, hense the name, keeps a close watch for predators that may harm the shrimp. They both share the burrow that the shrimp digs. As mentioned, they work in a symbiotic relationship.
