Mushroom problem
I set up a reef tank about 4 years ago. Being a beginner, I read up on the easiet corals to maintain, and of course, mushrooms were always at the top of the list. I had designed my tank with two islands of live rock seperated by about a foot in distance. Most of my mushrooms are on one island, and my other island has managed to become more LPS and SPS oriented. I have had a few mushrooms cross islands and I'm trying to keep them away from my other corals. I have been scraping them off, but they always seem to manage to grow back if even a trace is left behind. Can anyone recommend a way to just get rid of a couple of mushrooms that doesn't involve removing the rock from the tank?

Joes juice worked pretty good for me but you have to get them completely covered for it to work. Another option is to use kalk paste and cover the mushroom and it will kill it. I had the same problem and I had to take out all the rock out of my tank and kill it off to get rid of it all.

Thanks. I have heard of people injecting Joes Juice, I think I might try that as my first effort. I only have about 10 or so mushrooms on the SPS side of my tank, and of those only about 6 are close enough to my SPS that I would like to remove them. As a beginner in the hobby, you read so much about how mushrooms are the best starter corals, but you never read warnings about how fast the can multiply and how hard they are to remove at a later time. O'well, at least they're pretty.

I'd keep them there and just take them into the LFS for some store credit whenever they're ready
