phosban/carbon reactor

I plan on ordering two phosban reactors this week. The plan is to piggy back them off of a maxi-jet 400. I know flow will be alittle under ideal for the carbon but on the spot for the phosban. My question is what brand media to use. Looking around there are always so many options. Any advice?

Why dont you just order a dual GFO/Carbon reactor from Bulk Reef Supply. You will need a Maxi 1200 and it comes with a valve to control the flow. Much cheaper route, and they have GFO and Carbon. Just a thought.

+2 on bulkreefsupply, I just purchased 2 TLF phosban reactors and wish I would of got the dual set up from BRS. Would of been cheaper and took up less room. I am running the GAC and GFO that BRS sells as that is a savings in itself by buying it in bulk.

Get the dual reactors from Bulk Reef Supply. Terrific design and so easy to change media. You'll not regret it.

+4 for BRS. I replaced two of the Two Little Fishy Phosban reactors with the unit from Bulk Reef Supply. I can't believe I waited so long. Much better build quality and so much easier to use without the worry of springing a leak. Plus it's almost the same money.

Great info... Looked at the dual unit from BRS and like it. Which carbon and GFO are you using. Is the high capacity GFO the way to go???

I just use the regular granules for the GFO, and the regular carbon. I think I will use the better stuff next time, just in case...

I just set up my reactor from BRS and it is awesome. I used the Seachem brand phosguard and it lowered my phosphates from .5 to 0 in about 48 hours.
