Question about the salt i have Instant Ocean 200g box of salt with 4 bags in it. That would be 50g per bag. i added 2 bags thats 100g and my tank total volume is around 130-140g how much more should i add to be safe half of a bag? and then check SG?

If you are going to set up 140 gallons - then I'd do 1/4 bag. Measure it - then add more salt if needed.

It's easier to raise the SG of 140 gallons then the lower it since you will have a finite amount of volume in the tank.

regarding the Salinity - i'd do 36ppt or 1.026 - but it's your call.
Just whatever you end up with - make sure it's stable.

having trouble with my skimmer. I turn it on and it goes crazy foaming up. it is set right. i just filled up the other day, got some LR ans LS. waiting to see if the tank has a bloom. ive been dosing microbacteria7 to speed up the process. SG is at 1.025. I plumbed the collection cup to a bucket earlier and it still wouldnt stop. At the same time did a 5g WC while i was at it. What to do!!
Should i wait till i get algae to turn the pump on?

Update: My apartments central AC is not working there getting in a new one this week. Water temp is going from 77-80 during the day. Probably wont cause any damage since i dont have anything in the tank except one live rock and live sand. Also cant seam to point my loc lines in the right direction, keeps on pushing the sand towards the back. My skimmer is calming down a bit today i will do another 5G WC and run it again until it releases all the foam, I also put the bag in the washer running on hot water only and it cleaned it pretty good. well see what happens. I NEED ALGAE!! lol most people hate it. i need to cycle.

I was cleaning the glass on the tank today and noticed a white film starting to build up. Cleaned it all up. Not that bad just a light coating. Start of an algae bloom? or somethings going on in there.
