Razor in my tank

I was cutting up pieces of fish to feed my anemones in my 210 reef. Inadvertently, I think (I cannot find the thing), I dropped the razor blade into the tank. From no matter what angle I examined the reef tank, I could not find the blade. Will I have any harmfull affects? Anyone have this experience?

A~

If it can easily be found it's best to remove but don't worry if you can't find it. A lot of people have done that. It will dissolve in the salt water fairly quickly and shouldn't have any effect especially on a system your size.

Remove it if you can. I get nervous with any metal in my saltwater tanks.

I suggest that you try using a magnet to 'feel out' the razor, if it is in there.

I'd keep looking until i found it. I don't know if it would be harmful or not.

good luck.

it'll rust and release some iron and possibly zinc into the water, but it won't cut anything unless you move it

=1 on using a magnet to find it. although it probably won't hurt anything, you may end up finding it with your fingers, and that could lead to a nasty infection
