controller
Hi need help on choice of controller. Need it to perofrm the followings as essential:
-Control lighting (Actinic T5, white T5, Halides. (additional control for frag tnak or fuge would be also good)fans, chiller, heater -PH and ORP probe for management of CA reactor and Ozonizer -Temp probe to act as a 2nd control for chiller and heater. -Options like sending me an sms or email if any values are reached is an option (not a requirement) -basic control over pumps (at least manage the time they run or stopp. Any other suggestions on things to look for in a controller are welcome. finally I'll appreciate if you could describe backup measures you take just in case your controller doesn't work especially before travel. Do yours fail from time to time or require any tweeking? most important and I'll appreicate if you can check your controller if they work on 220V also or not as I'll be mail ordering it from the states and we have 220V 50Hzin here. Thanks

I would say most anything you get in the states would run on 120v unless you asked for 220v. And even then it might not be available.

I have used the Aquacontroller by Neptune Systems for years (they have a forum in the sponsor forum section on RC). Will do pretty much everything you were wondering about except maybe the 220v. I have had little issues here and there mostly with the temp and conductivity probes but it has never failed. It is a great unit and I rely on it so much that if it were to fail I would definitely be up the creek without a paddle. If you can wait a couple of months they are coming out with a new model that is supposed to have many new features.
