everything was alright before the jump to overflow

PS i only have a tank, decomm my nano last month
Then take a pair two the LFS, hopefully get some store credit.

You and your family members will only be more disappointed when they die.

I have to say;
4 clowns is NOT to many for a 90.
rather the separate pairs is causing the trouble.
in fact a friend of mine has kept 4 within a 29 gallon successful for several years not only successful but thriving.
Although I would still isolate one pair of clowns, No one wants to see any dead.

Big, big difference btw a 90 gallon and a nano tank. Also, your friends tank is the exception to the rule..and good for them..but it simply isn't advisable..

I think this discussion has gone about as far as it can go. The OP does not really care about whether his fish suffer harassment. So there is not much the rest of us can do to help those fish.

i agree w/ snorvich even dif species have problems once in a while on top of that two pairs just multiplies the problem sorry but the stressed fish may already be unsalvageable after such a shock let alone change in enviro.

So you're just gonna keep the black pair in there forever, huh? It's not like the two pair are going to make friends just because the blacks are in a clear box.

I feel bad for the fish involved . But I see lots of things sold at the LFS that shouldn't be sold...

Just FYI, there has been some success with A. ocellaris in family units. The pair will stay the pair and the other 1 or 2 will remain juvenile.

I have NEVER heard of any reliable success with mixed species or any other species of clown in a tank less than 150g. Your ONLY choice here is to sell or get another tank.

Most definetly not, the one that hosts will prob grow in aggressivness as they protect their host. As juvi's all four of your clowns have yet to show their ultimate aggressiveness. It's going to get worse!
Yes many people on here have more than 1 pair of clowns in their tank, some have VERY large tanks (120+) others are just lucky enough to have it work in a smaller tank(atleast for now), and others may have 4 all from one clutch. Just because someone else is able to "make it work" doesnt mean it will continue or that anyone else will be able to successfully replicate it in their systems. Long story short, your either going to need to get over it and lose a pair, set your nano back up for a pair, or simply put in the next couple months your clowns are gonna figure it out for themselves and you'll be able to explain the circle of life/survival of the fittest to your family as one pair will be killed.
- I mean NO offense by any of this, just trying to enlighten you on the situation.

+1 It won't work in a 240 gallon tank, I have tried it accidentally.
