For those who have had sucess in clown fish breeding
I have a total of 3 ocellaris clowns. I added the other 2 about a month ago. Ive noticed that 2 of them have decided to pair up and the other clown kind of just swims the tank while the other stay near the back corner and swim together. Now I know they're not considered a mated pair yet since they have not bred yet but are there any signs that could mean they might be getting ready to lay eggs? My one clown is getting a bit fat in the belly area and was thinking maybe it was carrying some eggs.

One sign would be they killing off the 3rd clown.
But, the major sign would be seeing them cleaning off a spot to lay their eggs. It could be a rock, bare glass, or a tile. Should see them actively cleaning that spot.

Two months is way to soon for them to lay eggs.
Killing the other clown would be a start.
