help id this crab!!

after at least 6 weeks i just noticed this big black red eyed devil in the burrow with my pistol. My pistol keeps trying to fight it but it ignores it. I dont want this guy getting ****ed and killing my pistol shrimp. I cant get a picture of it due to camera/light issues. You think he will mess with my pistol? Hes at least twice the size

If you can somehow get a picture or provide a more detailed description, someone may be able to help out. In the meantime, check out chucksaddiction.com, the crab hitch hiker section, and see if you can get an ID. Good luck.

Sounds bad to me, but there are so many crabs it is hard to give them a specific ID. I'd isolate him until you find out if he's good or bad. Crabs are oppurtunistic and will eat something if they get the chance.

Sorry, we really need a picture to help you. Without a picture, we are just guessing.
