My new live rock is bubbling? HELP
Recently started a 120 with a 55 sump have around 100 lbs LS and 160 lbs LR at a total of 110 gallons of water they have been cycling for 6 days now today after arriving home from work i noticed the live rock was bubbling and there are bubbles coating many areas of the rock! Is this a natural part of the process of a new tank or is immediate action required ammonia is down a shade from 1.0 to in between 1.0 and 0.50 Ph is 8.2 holding steady nitrates are in between 5.0 and 10 shades up from this morning salt is 1.023 and nitrites are 1.0.

those are normal values for ammonia, nitrites and nitrates for 6 days cycling
the bubbles are probably caused by alage on the rocks due to photosythesis which could be oxygen or by cycling bacteria which could be co2. However normal on both counts With high levels of ammonia you could be doing daily water changes to bring it down.

its the diatoms trapping airbubbles in crevices of your rock. I had some that where like 6 inches tall! They looked like mushrooms. Perfectly normal
