red/orange capricornius

I have had a monti for 8 months and it has been growing under the same lighting for the same now all of a sudden its loosing color it looks paler.Why is this

Yep, need to know your Cal, Alk and Mag. IME, caps are sensitive to Alk -- too low and too high.

with a test kit.....lol.

Go buy a salifert Mg test kit. Also how old are your lights and have you changed the light period?

this happened to me once and it turned out to be the temp fluctuations in my tank(my heater broke), but you definitely need to have good water quality
