how to get my sand cleaner

Hey guys,

I am very happy with everything with my tank so far with the exception to my sandbed. I have about a 3" sand bed and have 3 fish. I have mainly soft coral frags in the tank. One thing that is definitely lacking is my flow in the tank. I have ordered a koralia 2 and will be putting it in the tank as soon as it comes in. I'll list my setup below. I know I should, but I don't do water tests. I'm color blind and have had trouble with the test kits. I change my water 10-20% every two weeks.

60 gal uniquarium corner tank
250 watt HQI 14k phoenix bulb (10 hrs)
65 watt PC actinic bulb (1 hr before to 1 hr after the halide)
Rio 1700 (return)
koralia 1
Royal Gramma
False Percula
sixline wrasse
6 nassarius snails
approx 6 turbo snails
approx 7-8 hermit crabs
1 blood red shrimp
2 large tiger tail sea cucumbers

I'll listen to any constuctive critisism. I have had the tank up and running since Feb. I used rock and sand from an existing aquarium and my LFS tested my water for me and said that I probably won't have a cycle........any suggestions???? If my sand bed will get rid of the brown look I think it will look awesome.

Thanks in advance for any input

I've had two diamond sleeper gobies. They have either vanished or jumped out and died in my sump. I now have a plastic light crate covering the tank. I might try another one. Any suggestions on a good sand sifter that is not prone to jumping???

A Koralia #2 is going to be pretty tame. You could probably supplement it with two more Koralia #3's and be much happier.

I have had two #4s, a #3, and a #1 all in my 90gallon.

I think the #3's are the most versatile, they are easier to control than the #4s, but still have a wide current.

Agreed, you may need a couple more koralias for flow ( at least 2 #3s)

I am also having the same problem. I am also adding more circulation as well. As far as sand sifting gobys go. I know of the diamond goby...but what others are there? Im not too familiar with them...
