What size Koralia should I get
Am looking to start replacing pwrhds for flow. I see w/out their controller (koralia) they won't work on a wavemaker or my ACJr which means they would have to stay on. I'm thinking no prob as long as currents are colliding. Not in the mood to buy another controller right now. Any recommendations as to what size and how many? Anyone doing this already with comments?

If you buy the new 'magnum' Koralia's they will work on your controller/wavemaker. For a 58 gl I would think you would want 2 3's or 2 4's. I like the 3's because they are a little smaller and very close in output.

I'm only seeing the magnums in 5,6,7 & 8's starting at 1650 gph! Where are you seeing controllable magnums in the smaller units?

Also, just something to keep in mind when you see the HUGE flow numbers on the Koralia's that the flow is VERY wide. A concentrated flow in the same amount would be crazy in most tanks, but these Koralia's basically push a wall of water through your tank.
Just my $.02

I'm thinking about getting (2) 3's which are rated @ 850 gph only because of size. Once you get to the 4's they get huge (4.5 x 3.5.) Not sure if basing my decision on that is good and the fact that they can't be on a wavemaker just pointed at each other so to speak. I've looked at all the controllable units and they all require Koralia's controller to work (not buying another controller, wife will have my head!)

Sorry about calling the controllable ones 'magnums'. I read that the controllable ones can be used w/ any controller, not just the K controller, but I don't know if there is a connection issue. I think 2 of the 3's would be good, I really like them. I have 3 3's and a mj in my 75, but it is a bb sps tank.

I would use two K-4's & two K-3's for a 120. I have two K-4's on a 75 & could still use one more K-2 at least.

Mine came with a sort of nozzle that clips onto the end. It makes the flow more direct like a normal power head. I have it on there just to push some water around as it is the only powerhead in my tank right now. When I get some more, I'll probably take it off.

Just to clear it up ALL magnums ( controllable and regular plugs) can be controlled with any wavemaker because they don't have your typical impeller shaft. Their new ones can't physically spin backwards. Koralia has made this comment themselves
