refugium

i have a refugium in my sump :skimmer,refugium,return.should i have a small power head in the refugium for extra circulation?

What size tank?
I don't add any extra flow for chaeto in my 20L fug..

i would add a powerhead only if you had live rock in your refugium

I have read that the low amount of flow makes it a better and more productive environment for microrganisms, worms, and all the oher fuge critters. I wouldn't add one

I thought you could still have low flow AND live rock in a fuge. Just corals need the flow. Live rock doesnt really, no?

i would say it depends upon the set up . i have a 55gal divided in half . The return from the main just kind of skims along the top to the over flow. The bottom portion was getting no flow very stale

i think the power head helps to keep things moving.
