White spot on SPS Frags - Epoxy Reaction?

Hi Gang:

I deployed a couple of small SPS monti frags recently in the display tank. I used a small amount of epoxy to attach them to the rocks. The epoxy is specified to be reef safe and designed for this task. However, dead "white spots" have appeared above the area where the epoxy was applied. Is this the cause of the white spot? If so, is there a better attachment method that won't harm the coral?

Thanks in advance.

I have always used super glue gel for my coral, it works great.
