help with my new skimmer

So i got my skimmer this morning, an msx 200. It came with the pinwheel impeller installed but also with the mesh one seperate. is the mesh really better than the pinwheel? And i have no idea how to get this thing out to change it and it came with no instructions. Any help is appreciated.

Run the pinwheel for a few weeks until it's fully broken in. The MS pinwheel is a decent piece.

The mesh can work better but it's tough to tell how well without an airflow meter. It's also not as stable of a foam head as the pinwheels.

Before switching to the mesh, you'll want to pick up some silicone o-ring grease. It's available at many hardware stores. Then watch the videos on Marine Solutions website for instruction on opening the unit without damaging it. It's really tough the first time as the o-rings are dry but once you coat them it's much easier.
